Performing Arts

Theater

We have 3 musical productions in our 4 week session…one for each age group, each session. In the 2 week session there is 1 all-camp show. Everyone who wants to be in a play is automatically in the play.

This performance experience is designed to give younger children a chance to experience what is like to be in a play. For the older kids our goal is to bring out the best possible performance in each camper. We make the shows fun while working hard.

These are full productions with lights, music, costumes, sets, and props. The entire camp comes to see every show. Many of our campers are very serious about the theater. In the past, their experiences have led them to become more confident performers in their school productions or sent them to major in theater while in college.

Dance

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned dancer, our dance classes will make you feel like a star performer. We combine the best of jazz, funk and hip-hop to prepare performance routines to contemporary and top 40 music of your choice. Learn body isolations to build coordination and rhythm. Prepare fun-and-funky combinations with instructors who are themselves performers.

Rock Band

Always wanted to be in a band? Here’s your chance. You pick the music and your instructors will teach you the songs and how to work together. You’ll perform for camp and have it posted on youtube.

Lessons are also available for acoustic and electric guitar, percussion and vocals for beginners to advanced.

A separate songwriting class for experienced musicians will give you time to perfect your craft.

Circus Arts & Clowing

Campers learn basic circus skills such as juggling, walking on a rolling globe, unicycling, devil sticks, and acrobatics. Slaps & falls, tripping, pie throwing and the fine art of spitting are just some of the hilarious stunts you could learn from our own professional Ringling Bros. Clown (and Director) Kevin.
