Studio Art

We’ve recently expanded our Art Center to make room for new classes and more equipment! Our premiere facility houses room for over 30 diverse classes each day! Campers are taught by practicing artists who provide hands-on art instruction for both serious artists and those who love to dabble. Here are just some of the studio art offerings.

Jewelry

You’ll design jewelry in various mediums. We go well beyond the beads and hemp with metal fabrication, wire-craft, femo, junk and other jewelry making techniques.

Fashion Design

Wearable art, clothing, accessories and bedding. Go from concept, drawing, design to creation. Learn to work with patterns and use a sewing machine.

Ceramics & Wheel Pottery

Explore your 3 dimensional creativity in our busy ceramics studio. Large figures, city replicas, abstracts and practical pieces are produced here. Learn to throw a pot on the wheel. Unique glazing techniques complete the process.

Painting & Drawing

Charcoal, pastel, watercolor, acrylics and oils are some of the materials used to create 2 dimensional projects. Instruction in illustration, portraiture, scenic and landscape art are emphasized. Grab your easel and go anywhere on campus to be inspired.

Cartooning

Whether you are into anime, working on a graphic novel or just love to draw aliens, this class will provide you with the tools to perfect your skills. Our resident professional illustrators will help you develop your characters and make them jump off the page!

Digital Photography

You’ll learn composition and picture taking techniques in this class. Then it’s on to Photoshop to manipulate the images. Beginner and advanced skills will be taught.

Experimental Art

If you like to get messy, then this is the class for you! Paint goes on fabric and paper via shaving cream, balloons, bubble wrap, you name it! It is so much fun. Thinking out of the box is what this art is all about. The pieces produced will amaze you.

Scale Modeling

Miniaturized skyscrapers, figurines, elaborate dramatic scenes and cities have been created over the years. You’ll learn architectural techniques to build your model to scale or you can take artistic license and make something totally futuristic. The materials you use to build in are also up to you.

Stained Glass

In this activity, you’ll learn about different types of glass, how to score (cut) the glass, and in the proper use of the tools to create a beautiful stained glass piece. Will your design be geometric, a picture or abstract?

Video Production

We write, shoot and edit our own films. Campers are instructed on how to use all of the equipment and then they are off on production. Advanced techniques are utilized for editing and then uploaded onto our YouTube channel.

And More!

Bring your imagination and we’ll help you create. Our staff of artists offer different classes each summer along with the favorites listed above. You may find: silk screening, paper mache, batik, sculpture, mixed media, mosaics, room t-shirt design, decorations and much more.
