Get outside and explore Emerson! Our campers love hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors. From learning new skills to identifying plants to playing on our adventure course – the Berkshires is an incredible place to spend the summer outside and active!
Archery
Ready. Aim. Fire! We have a large range with individual stalls and multiple targets. Archery is an extremely popular activity at camp. Come and learn all the techniques and safety procedures and see how many bull’s-eyes you can get. You can also participate in the inaugural archery tournament!
Climbing Wall
Climb to new heights on our forty-foot climbing wall! Campers can use the rock climbing holds on the front of the wall or climb up the play-pen on the back. Learn how to use your body to propel you up the wall, tie safety knots, and repel down!
CO2 Cars
Have you ever built a balsa wood car powered by carbon dioxide and raced it down a fifty foot track? Well at Camp Emerson you can!
Hiking
Explore the beautiful trails of Berkshire County! There are so many incredible trailheads just minutes from camp with rivers, forests, and some that offer gorgeous views of the surrounding area.
Low Ropes Course
Have a blast while building confidence, teamwork and leadership skills on our low ropes course. You will walk away from our course motivated and realizing your ability to accomplish things you never thought possible. There are a variety of elements to appropriately challenge different ages.
Overnights
Bunks have an opportunity to camp out on our property. Campers sleep in sleeping bags in tents, enjoy dinner on the open fire, make s’mores, of course. It’s so relaxing under the Camp Emerson stars. If this is your first outdoor overnight, you’re in for a relaxing, fun, and connected experience. It’s a great time with all of your friends.
Rocketry
Three, two, one…blast off! Campers build and decorate model rockets. At the end of the session we gather for a group launch session!
Science Experiments
Make a mess, have fun, and learn about the fundamentals of science all at the same time!
Wilderness Skills
It’s empowering to learn different skills that support you in the outdoors. From shelters, to fire building, and orienteering, campers leave Emerson more confident and comfortable in the outdoors.
Woodshop
Our oldest campers learn the basics of woodworking and complete projects they can either bring home or that live at camp.
