Work @ Emerson

Change Lives. Make Memories. Have the Best Summer.

At Camp Emerson we are fortunate to have passionate staff who return summer after summer. Staff forge close friendships with their peers, share their passions and skills with campers, and contribute to making camp a warm community where everyone is welcome. Working at a summer camp is an incredible opportunity to positively impact campers and build your resume – all while having an incredible amount of fun! There’s simply no place like camp.

All staff must be 18 or older and have prior experience working with kids. For this upcoming summer we are hiring for staff in the following departments:

  • Counselors / Activity Specialists
  • Health Center
  • Kitchen
  • Leadership
  • Office & Operations

If you are interested in working at Camp Emerson please email staff@campemerson.com: or fill out our Staff Interest Form. We look forward to meeting you!

Camp Emerson is a coed overnight camp located in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts. We offer a wide variety of summer camp activities to our campers, and there are a number of jobs available for staff. As a specialty counselor, you will be responsible for teaching one or more specific summer camp activities in addition to living in a cabin with the campers, and participating in the general overnight camp program (cabin routine, evening activities, special events, etc.). The Emerson staff does not include any general counselors. All candidates must have teaching experience with children ages 7-15 or significant experience in their field.

Before I set out for camp I didn’t really know what to expect but It’s one of those places that I wished I had experienced as a child and a place I feel privileged to have been part of this summer. The energy of the entire camp from the kids to the other counselors and yourself and Kevin is second to none. {Camp Emerson is} a place so full of energy and big characters that it’s impossible not to get involved in the entire atmosphere. I found it extraordinary that in a place with so many people it was so easy to find merit with everybody.

I wanted to let you know how much the summer camp meant to me. It turned out to be the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I made the most amazing friends and loved my girls. I think about them all the time!

I just want to thank you again for everything you’ve done for me. Camp changed my life and I’m so grateful for it. You gave me the opportunity to step up and be a director and had faith in me to do so. I love camp and it will always be like home to me.
